This fire extinguishing method is called water oil isolation method. At 6:05 a.m. on January 17, 2002, located in the oil return station of an individual refinery in Beiwu village, Dongying District, Shandong Province, a gasoline tanker leaked and caught fire at the bottom of the oil tank, and the fire on the ground has reached more than 200 square meters. At that time, there were more than ten oil tanks around less than 100 meters away from the ignition point. If the burning oil tank truck exploded, the consequences would be unimaginable. Firefighters pumped water to the tanker to cool down and put out the fire with foam at the same time. It is very difficult to put out the fire because the bottom of the oil tank is constantly leaking oil. The fire headquarters decided to use water and oil isolation method to extinguish the fire. Under the cover of the water gun, the firefighters rushed to the top of the tank car to observe the fire, and quickly filled the tank with water from the oil loading port on the top of the tank with a hose. Five minutes later, the oil level in the tank rose, and the water formed a water oil isolation at the bottom of the tank. The water leaked from the leakage at the bottom of the tank, and the fire was finally extinguished

1 applicable object

it is applicable to the fire fighting of oil tank with the leakage part at the bottom, lower part or the valve or flange adjacent to the lower part of the oil tank, and it is also applicable to the leakage fire of liquefied petroleum gas and other dangerous goods that are insoluble in water and have a specific gravity lighter than water. One of the most effective methods is to use structural justice to fight the fire. If the leakage part is on the top or upper part of the oil tank, the height of the water cushion is difficult to reach the height of the leakage point, and the leakage source cannot be cut off, so the fire-fighting purpose cannot be achieved

2 operation requirements

use the height of the leakage point requiring constant speed movement, the cross-sectional area of the oil tank and consider a certain additional amount to calculate the required water injection, check the available water source at the fire site, quickly mobilize and inject into the tank at a speed far exceeding the leakage, and strive to extinguish the fire in the shortest time

4 leakage stoppage and emergency repair

after using the water oil isolation method to complete the fire-fighting task, it is necessary to quickly organize leakage stoppage and emergency rescue. When there is a certain level of water in the tank, stop injecting water and close all valves that can be closed. Cover the surface of the flowing oil surface after the fire is extinguished with foam, and seal the leaking parts with plugging gun, plugging bag, wooden wedge, plugging glue, etc. for plugging. At the same time, make preparations to replace the valve gasket, repair the valve and repair the crack in case of failure as soon as possible. During operation, at least 4 people should cooperate to use tools such as copper spanner, gasket and oxygen respirator to work quickly with water and carry out emergency repair.
